LINCOLN, CA – Placer County District Attorney Brad Fenocchio has added his name to the large and growing roster of elected northern California law enforcement officials who are endorsing Doug LaMalfa for State Senate.

A veteran prosecutor in the Placer County District Attorney's office of 24 years, Fenocchio said, "Doug LaMalfa earned a track record of success with my colleagues from several counties on issues such as trial funding and penalty enhancements. He was an effective member of the Assembly, representing northern California and while there, he earned his tough-on-crime reputation."

Sixteen current and former District Attorneys and Sheriffs from the 4th Senate District have endorsed Doug LaMalfa for the State Senate, including seven current District Attorneys and nine Sheriffs.   Other District Attorneys endorsing LaMalfa are: Colusa County District Attorney John Poyner, Shasta County District Attorney Jerry Benito, Siskiyou County District Attorney Kirk Andrus, Sutter County District Attorney Carl Adams, Tehama County District Attorney Gregg Cohen, and Trinity County District Attorney Mike Harper.

Current and former Sheriffs endorsing LaMalfa are: Colusa County Sheriff Scott Marshall, Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson, Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones, Siskiyou County Sheriff Rick Riggins, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko and retired Sheriff Jim Pope, Retired Sutter County Sheriff Jim Denney, Tehama County Sheriff Clay Parker and Trinity County Sheriff Lorrac Craig.

"I'm excited to have the support of such a well-known and respected prosecutor like Brad.  His is another key endorsement as we build our grassroots support base," said LaMalfa.

The 4th Senate District spans much of rural northern California.  LaMalfa represented much of the district when he served in the Assembly and is well known throughout the area.  Doug LaMalfa is a fourth generation rice farmer and business owner who represented the 2nd Assembly District from 2002 through 2008.

Northstate Republican Doug LaMalfa continues to garner the vast majority of district endorsements, with his announcement today that all five Shasta County Supervisors, along with the Shasta County D.A., Sheriff and Auditor Controller, are supporting his candidacy.

"I'm happy to support Doug LaMalfa because he's been an effective representative for us in the Northstate, He was constantly attending our local events, hearing directly from the people," said Supervisor Hartman. "Personally, I know we can always count on Doug to check in with those of us at the local level to get our opinions on the latest issues affecting our state.  He's been there for us and that's why I'm supporting him."

Sheriff Tom Bosenko, Former Sheriff Jim Pope, District Attorney Jerry Benito, Auditor Controller Connie Regnell, and County Supervisors Glenn Hawes, Linda Hartman, David Kehoe, Leonard Moty, and Les Baugh have all endorsed LaMalfa for Senate.

"It's been a pleasure to work with Doug over the past several years and I look forward to seeing him in the State Senate," said Auditor Controller Connie Regnell. "When our local special districts were facing an expensive and cumbersome audit process, Doug came through by working with my fellow county auditors, our special districts and me to change the law to reduce the cost burden while maintaining accountability."

"Doug LaMalfa understands that government's first responsibility is to protect its law-abiding citizens and he has proven to be an effective voice for public safety," said Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko. "That is why so many leaders in law enforcement strongly support Doug for the State Senate."

The 4th Senate District spans much of rural northern California. LaMalfa represented much of the district when he served in the Assembly and is well known throughout the area. Doug LaMalfa is a fourth generation rice farmer and business owner who represented the 2nd Assembly District from 2002 through 2008.
